If you are looking for your next ceramic challenge, the wood fire workshop with Stone Bear Studios is for you. Throughout this course, you will create a body of work specifically designed to maximize the unique space of a hybrid wood fire kiln. This experience will push your limits, challenging you to produce a diverse range of pieces that are both refined and robust enough to survive the intense firing process. Structured as a lecture-style course and limited to just six students per session, these workshops are best suited for intermediate to advanced potters who throw confidently and welcome constructive critique. Workshop Timeline and Important Dates: Week 1: Class meet and greet, distribution of clay, first lecture on wood fire kiln basics Weeks 2-6: Construction and creation of pieces, short lectures, critique available upon request Week 6: Final submission for bisque firing Week 7 Thursday: Kiln loading in Morrison, CO during class (not at SBS) Week 7 Friday 6pm-Saturday 6am: Firing Shifts in Morrison, CO Week 8: Celebrate! Collection and clean-up of pieces at SBS
