Class Details
Throw Big or Go Home is a hands-on, five-week class for potters ready to scale up, literally. Whether you're an intermediate thrower or looking to break past size limitations, this workshop teaches the techniques, tools, and mindset needed to throw large-scale forms with confidence.
Led by an experienced instructor, you'll dive into:
Centering and managing larger volumes of clay
Throwing in sections to build taller or wider vessels
Adjusting tools and posture for scale
Best practices for drying, trimming, and handling big work
Expect demos, guided practice, and personalized feedback. Students will leave with completed large forms and the skills to keep pushing their scale.
Please allow 6-8 weeks for completion of final firing after glazing.
