Woodfiring Workshop - Fall/Winter 2024

Service Description

This workshop is intended for experienced throwers, pottery enthusiasts, and avid learners! If you are looking to hone your throwing skills, learn more about the ceramic process, and get more intimate experience with kilns this is a great option for you. From October-December (2024) we will construct a collection of ceramic forms to fill the Anagama & Soda kilns with Justin Lambert in Morrison, CO. Schedule: Class: Mondays 6-830pm 10/21, 10/28, 11/4, 11/11, 11/18, 11/25, Glazing 12/2. There will be at least one additional session added on a weekend day (TBD, likely 10/25) Kiln Loading: Weds. 12/4 & Thurs. 12/5 - Half of us will be there day one, the other half will be there day 2. Please consider this, and plan accordingly with your work schedule. Firing: Thursday 12/5 through Monday 12/9 - Each student will get to fire two-three 6-hour shifts (you may offer your shifts to other students if your schedule is limited and others want more time at the kiln) - Shifts are: 6pm-midnight, midnight-6am, 6am-noon, noon-6pm - Please plan your work schedule accordingly Unload TBD: 12/14, 12/15, 12/21 or 12/22 - this is one of the best parts of the experience, please prepare to attend. Friends and family are welcome (limited parking). Price includes 100# Clay (B-Clay/Fireclay/Reclaimed Blend), Glaze, Instruction, Access to Stone Bear Studios Member Area, 4.5 cu. ft. in the Anagama/Soda kilns, and all other firing fees. Any unused classes are forfeit and not subject to a refund. Classes are open to students 18+, youth classes are not offered at this time.
