Service Description

This workshop is intended for experienced throwers, pottery enthusiasts, and avid learners! If you are looking to hone your throwing skills, learn more about the ceramic process, and get more intimate experience with kilns this is a great option for you. For a 2-month stretch from September-November (2023) we will construct a collection of ceramic forms to fill the Tube & Soda kilns with Justin Lambert in Morrison, CO. Schedule: 9/27 - Session 0 (short meeting): Discuss schedule (choose shifts), how to fill space, diversity of forms, get clay. No throwing in class. Open Studio Available. 10/4 - Week 1 of Class 10/11 - Week 2 of Class 10/18 - Week 3 of Class 10/25 - Week 4 of Class 11/1 - Week 5 of Class 11/8 - Week 6 of Class 11/15 - Final Glaze Day 11/17 - 8am-4pm Kiln Loading - Expect to be there the whole day. 11/17-19 - Firing: Each student will be expected to fire two 6-hour shifts. Shift Schedule: Fri. 11/17 - 6pm-Midnight Sat. 11/18 - Midnight-6am Sat. 11/18 - 6am-Noon Sat. 11/18 - Noon-6pm Sat. 11/18 - 6pm-Midnight Sun. 11/19 - Midnight-6am Sun. 11/19 - 6am-Noon Sun. 11/19 - Noon-6pm Sun. 11/19 - 6pm-Midnight Mon. 11/20 - Midnight-6am (It usually doesn't get this far, but we like to have it covered) 11/26 - Unload: Noon Start - this is one of the best parts of the experience, please prepare to attend. Friends and family are welcome (limited parking). Price includes 50# B-Clay, Glaze, Instruction, Access to Open Studio, and all firing fees. Full payment must be made up front. 50% may be refunded if you cancel 24 hours or more in advance of the first meeting of your class. Any unused classes are forfeit and not subject to a refund. Open studio will be offered at a first come, first served basis in time frames when staff is present. Missed classes may be made up between weeks 1-5 during these times. Otherwise there is no guarantee for any missed classes. Classes are open to students 18+, youth classes are not offered at this time. Any questions may be directed to info@stonebearstudios.com
