About this CLass

When: Mon-Fri, 6/23-6/27 from 6-8:30pm - Open Studio available based on studio schedules through 7/4.

Cost: $295 includes materials, instruction, class time, and Open Studio through 7/4. Additional Glaze day may be booked separately for 7/19.

Description: In this class, students will explore different aspects of sculpting with clay in the weeklong workshop, with added opportunity to continue construction through the following week.

We'll start off with Anatomical Proportions, Gesture Drawing, and the consideration of gravity and shape deconstruction.

It will be up to you to bring in source imagery inspiration for reference for your sculptures.

As we continue, we'll work on 3-D sketches and figure out some problems with the gravity of our pieces, considering balance, poses, etc.

Next, we'll work on texture, smoothing, addition, subtraction, and realistic muscularity within our sculptures.

Finally, we'll finish up with fine details, facial features, hair, clothing, fabric, and maybe even props!

After we've done introductions to all of these concepts, it's up to you to continue your sculptures. Make sure to attend Open Studio!
